James is the Co-Owner of Buzo Trattoria, Wine Library and the soon to be opened Vincent French brasserie in Sydney.
After studying at Sydney university James changed tact and began training as a chef working throughout Europe and Australia before opening Buzo with Traci Trinder and Todd Garratt in 2003. Since then the team have opened multi-award winning wine bar, Wine Library and are opening Vincent, a French brasserie in September this year. All of James' restaurants are in the Woollahra neighbourhood of Sydney and offer over 700 wines across all the establishments lists.
James recently began a push to encourage local sommeliers and diners to support Australian wine pouring, with a 8 week a program they called 'Think local, drink local'. Wine Library will now run the event annually, which will be a two month celebration of Australian wine, offering over 50 wines by the glass. James is also one of the organisers of 'Rootstock Sydney; The Sustainable & Artisan Food and Wine Festival'. The festival aims to support and celebrate producers who work with organic, biodynamics and sustainable agricultural practices.
